The Beatles “Get Back” film from Peter Jackson gave us an intimate view of The Band, now see it on the LARGEST screen possible as The Rooftop Concert comes to IMAX.

Did you enjoy the view from “Up on the The Roof” as The Beatles played a 45-minute concert for fans on the street below January 30, 1969?

Well, IMAX theaters celebrated that day by showing the full concert on hundreds of IMAX screens worldwide, inviting fans to experience The Beatles famous rooftop concert as if you were there. The showing was one day only: Sunday January 30th, but it may get another run! Fans have said of Sunday’s showing: “It  was wonderful to be there, it was certainly a thrill.”

 

This one-hour film is extracted from The Beatles Get Back film, an 8-hour rockumentary on how the band created the songs from The Let it Be period and wrote and rehearsed a live concert to take place January 30th, 1969 in just over 3 weeks. This special showing was on the 53rd anniversary of The Rooftop concert ONLY.
