The Beatles Meet Elvis 8-27-65

The picture is photoshopped but it REALLY DID HAPPEN! On August 27, 1965, The Four Knights met The King: Elvis Presley, at his Bel Air mansion near Los Angeles. It happened while The Boys were in town to play two shows at the Hollywood Bowl, but also get a little rest and relaxation, have parties and hang with the likes of The Byrds, Crosby, and many others.  No press or photographers were allowed in to the summit meeting between the Kings, except for ONE MAN outside The Beatles circle: Ivor Davis, a British reporter who accompanied the band on their 1964 and 65 tour.  Hear Joe Johnson’s interview with Ivor as written about in his excellent book from 2014, “The Beatles and Me on Tour”. Hear what happened in full that night. Wow, to be a fly on the wall.
